Four students. One shared point of view.

We're a Boston University team shaped by time spent hosting, serving, stewarding, studying, and listening. Different paths brought us to the same table.

The Basil team at Boston University: Felix Tuchscherer, Andrew Kim, Moritz Johnson, and Aaron Wax

Where we come from

Before we were teammates, we each saw a different side of how restaurants work—and how much invisible effort great hospitality requires.

Hospitality experience meets technical curiosity.

Felix, Andrew, Moritz, and Aaron bring together computer science, business, and hospitality. What connects us is simple: we care about making ourselves useful, and we believe the best ideas begin by listening to the people closest to the problem.

01

Hospitality, firsthand

Our team includes a former host, two former servers, and a former steward.

02

Different disciplines

We bring together perspectives from computer science, business, and hospitality.

03

One working style

We listen closely, build quickly, and stay connected to the people doing the work every day.

A milestone we share

2026 Innovation Competition winners.

Together, we won $15,000 in the 2026 Boston University School of Hospitality Administration Innovation Competition—an early vote of confidence in our team and the work we chose to take on.

Awarded to the team

$15,000

Boston, Massachusetts · 2026

What keeps us moving

Stay curious. Stay close to the floor.

Our best work comes from conversations—with restaurant teams, diners, mentors, and one another. We're proud of how far we've come, and even more interested in what we still have to learn.
